Contemporary Artist Coat Hanger Up-cycled Wooden Unique by Curro Claret Using T300 Metal Connector.
This one-of-a-kind wooden coat hanger by Spanish designer Curro Claret is part of his innovative project Hanging with T300, which explores new uses for his patented T300 metal connector—originally created in 2010 to enable the construction of furniture from reclaimed wood. Designed to empower people to build their own objects using simple tools and found materials, this hanger is made from upcycled wood sourced from the streets and minimally altered. The result is a raw yet expressive piece that fuses industrial design with social and environmental consciousness. Claret, a graduate of Elisava and Central St. Martins, is known for his thoughtful, purpose-driven work and for pushing the boundaries between design and activism. His work has been widely exhibited, published, and awarded, making this functional sculpture not only a conversation piece but also a collectible expression of sustainable design thinking.
Curro Claret (1968)
Curro studied industrial design at the Elisava School and in Central St. Martins in London. In 1998 he began his freelance work. Since then, he had worked in different projects of all kind. Alongside these years he has been working as a professor in Elisava and occasionally in other Spanish centers and in other countries as well. His work has been exhibited in various places and published in different media and has received various honors and awards.
