About the Item
Unique artistic wooden coat hanger up-cycled by Curro Claret.
It is a sculptural wall-mounted coat rack by Curro Claret made with the T-300 system: a perforated metal piece that joins and gives structure to various found wooden slats. On a cross of timber — one vertical and another set diagonally — six red billiard balls are attached, functioning as hanging points arranged as if they were orbiting around the central axis. The T-300 connector, in painted steel sheet with exposed screws, is deliberately left visible and becomes part of the piece’s formal language. The result is an object halfway between furniture and sculpture that champions the reuse of everyday materials and the freedom to compose with whatever is at hand.
Curro Claret (1968)
Curro studied industrial design at the Elisava School and in Central St. Martins in London. In 1998 he began his freelance work. Since then, he had worked in different projects of all kind. Alongside these years he has been working as a professor in Elisava and occasionally in other Spanish centers and in other countries as well. His work has been exhibited in various places and published in different media and has received various honors and awards.
Exhibited at the Barcelona based Il·lacions Design gallery in 2023.
