Bring a refined yet practical touch to an entryway or dressing area with this sculptural, early 20th-century French Perroquet coat stand. Crafted circa 1920 in the manner of celebrated German-Austrian cabinetmaker Michael Thonet, the hall tree showcases the classic bentwood construction for which Thonet became renowned. The rotating crown features two tiers of six elegantly curved hooks, allowing it to function as both a hat and coat rack, and it is topped with a turned finial for added architectural presence. The central column displays carved turnings and includes three belt hooks at mid-height. Below, four gracefully scrolled legs form a stable base and encircle a bentwood ring designed for umbrellas.
This vintage floor stand is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and it presents a warm, light-bleached patinated finish that highlights the natural character of the wood and enhances its airy silhouette. A functional and stylish accent that works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
