About the Item

Striking floor-standing coat hanger attributed to Adolf Loos, characterized by an austere, architectural composition and strict geometric clarity. The design features a slender vertical structure formed by multiple metal uprights, supporting a crown of elegantly curved hooks arranged in a restrained, functional rhythm. The square base and intermediary tray element reinforce the rationalist vocabulary associated with Loos’ design philosophy, emphasizing utility, proportion, and the rejection of superfluous ornament. The original light-colored painted finish, now showing age-related wear and patina, enhances the piece’s authenticity and sculptural presence. An exceptionally elegant example of early modernist functional design, equally suited for use or as a sculptural object within a curated interior, particularly appealing to collectors of Viennese Secession and Rationalist design.
