About the Item

Rarissimo Appendiabiti regolabile modello "AT4" disegnato dall'architetto italiano Luigi Caccia Dominioni e prodotto da Azucena intorno agli anni '50. L'appendiabiti è un pezzo iconico del design italiano, caratterizzato da una struttura a fisarmonica in ottone massiccio che gli conferisce regolabilità in lunghezza, i pomelli che sono in bachelite rossa. Luigi Caccia Dominioni è uno dei principali architetti e urbanisti italiani del secondo dopoguerra e uno dei precursori e fondatori del design italiano, brillante interprete della tradizione milanese e lombarda. Inizia il suo percorso professionale subito dopo la laurea conseguita nel 1936 presso il Politecnico di Milano con l’apertura di uno studio in Porta Nuova insieme ai fratelli Livio e Piergiacomo Castiglioni, dedicandosi ad architettura di interni, design, progettazione industriale, concorsi e allestimenti. In particolare, l’attività nel campo dell’industrial design lo vede “pioniere” alla VII Triennale di Milano con una serie di apparecchi radio progettati con i fratelli Nel 1947 insieme a Ignazio Gardella e Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua, fonda il marchio italiano Azucena che da sempre si distingue per le sue collezioni che uniscono eleganza formale, lusso, estetica pura e nitida e un’altissima manifattura.
