About the Item

A very nice early 19th century blacksmith handwrought iron game rack with a center ring with eight hooks supported by four arms. Game racks are used to hang small game meat such as fowl, rabbits, etc to dry after a hunt. They were also used to dry herbs. This piece has lovely details and clean lines, making it perfect to use in today's kitchen as a pot rack, utensil holder, or to hold baskets. England, Early 19th Century Measures: 26.25"W x 26.25"D x 34.5"H. Without chain: 18"H. Very good antique condition. Patina expected with age and use.
