About the Item
A very pretty English William IV period burl walnut 3 section canterbury with a single drawer, the divides of stick and ball design, over a single drawer supported on ring turned legs resting on original brass casters. The figuring of the walnut veneers in particularly striking and the color of the piece is excellent. The canterbury was originally designed to hold sheet music and serveware. It later came to be used for magazines and books. Overall in very attractive original condition. Circa 1835-1840.
