About the Item
A remarkably crafted barrel hollowed from a single block of solid hardwood, with vivid swirling grain showing all around. Evidencing incredible carving in achieving a thin walled barrel shaped form from a large piece of wood. Inscribed groups of five lines scored around the circumference in a pattern of 1, 2, 4, 2, and 1 groupings. Also has characterful riveted brass mending plate repairs as shown.
