Antique Fez embroidery cushions, made to order.
We keep stock of 19th and early 20th century Fez embroideries, available as panels or as down-filled pillows, made to order.
The design and style of Fez embroidery is characterised by Hispano-Mooresque design elements in the form of abstracted florals and geometrics. The embroidery is done with tightly coiled silk on cotton, always in single colours, typically rust-reds, indigo, deep purples and faded greens. The exquisite handwork is executed in a counted thread technique such as reversible double running stitch, stem stitch
back stitch.
Antique fragments are highly collectable and increasingly rare.
