About the Item
This striking pillow cover is crafted from an antique late Ottoman wool textile featuring a central Tughra motif—an imperial calligraphic emblem traditionally used by Ottoman sultans. Surrounded by floral and arabesque embroidery, the design is worked in silk thread across a rich black wool ground, carrying both historic symbolism and refined artistry.
The reverse is finished with a muted vintage cotton fabric, providing an earthy contrast that allows the elaborate embroidery to stand out. A rare and culturally significant piece, it brings Ottoman heritage into contemporary interiors with a timeless presence.
The embroidery shows minor wear consistent with age, adding to the authentic character of the textile.
