About the Item
Crafted from 19th-century handwoven wool once used as waistbands in regional women’s attire, these covers offer a rare glimpse into the sartorial traditions of Sivas, an Anatolian region of Turkey. The vertical striping in earthy reds, creams, and deep blues carries a timeworn softness, lending warmth and subtle rhythm to any space.
The backs are lined with a deep green Turkish Kutnu fabric, providing a rich yet understated contrast to the patterned front. The pairing of antique wool with this grounding hue creates a quiet harmony of texture and tone, making the pair a versatile addition to both classic and modern interiors.
Recommended insert size: from 40x40cm (16x16") to 43x43cm (17x17"). We recommend using an insert slightly larger than the cover for a full look.
