A pair of Venetian velvet pillows in red and silver tones, down-filled and made in Venice by Venetia Studium, a company dedicated to preserving historic Venetian textile and decorative arts.
The design language of these pillows is rooted in the work of Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo (1871–1949), whose revolutionary approach to textiles and light shaped Venetian design in the early 20th century. Working alongside his wife and muse, Henriette Negrin, Fortuny established his atelier at Palazzo Orfei in Venice, where he developed innovative fabric printing, velvet treatments, and lighting designs.
The visual richness and technical experimentation pioneered at Palazzo Fortuny continue to influence Venetian workshops today. Venetia Studium’s production draws upon this lineage, translating historic methods and aesthetics into finely crafted contemporary objects.
Elegant, atmospheric, and timeless, these pillows offer a refined connection to Venice’s most influential design heritage, suitable for both classical and modern interiors.
