About the Item
This is a fine collection of cushions sewn from a very rare piece of Ashante Kente textile from the 1960's .
The Ashante Kente used to sew the cushions is woven from handspun cotton with all natural dyes . This Ashante Kente is very rare in it's weaving pattern and colour combination. It would have been woven for a high ranking chief and commissioned by his senior wife to demonstrate her devotion.
The textile has been expertly sewn into 5 cushions.
Two larger cushions measure 51cm x 51cm x 10cm deep
Three smaller cushions measuring 37cm x 37 cm x 10 cm deep.
In exceptional condition adding brightness to any room.
