Early seventeenth century English needlepoint wool and silk tapestry fragment decorative pillow originating in England and dating to circa 1600. The textile presents a narrative pastoral scene featuring a female figure beneath a fruit bearing tree accompanied by birds foliage and architectural elements. Such imagery is characteristic of early English needlepoint work which often drew from symbolic garden and landscape themes. The stitching retains strong visual texture and depth with colors that have naturally softened over time. This fragment has been professionally preserved and constructed into a pillow while maintaining its historical integrity.
