Early seventeenth century English needlepoint wool and silk tapestry fragment decorative pillow originating in England and dating to circa 1620. The textile presents a narrative figural garden scene featuring a standing female figure beside a fruit bearing tree surrounded by dense foliage and floral motifs. Such imagery is characteristic of early English Jacobean needlepoint which often conveyed symbolic and pastoral themes through detailed hand stitching.
