About the Item
This is a very fine Ewe Kente textile from the Volta region of Ghana . Woven from handspun cotton and all natural dyes . This is a Royal piece as indicated by the gold block weaving on a rare burgundy background.
The piece would have been worn on ceremonial occassions.
The piece is certainly 100 years old but has a contemporary feel both in design and colour.Versatile in its application it would make a beautiful bed covering or statement piece hanging in a dinning room.
