About the Item

Antique hand embroidered luxurious metallic gold thread and blue velvet pillow. Very fine, detailed workmanship on the gold embroidery in the shape of multiple, continuous arches. The embroidery dates from the 19th century, thoughtfully designed as a pillow in fine blue velvet for comfortable use with the gold work framing the face on both sides for a beautiful effect. Fabulous accesory for a wide variety of interiors: Modern, Contemporary, Elizabithan, Baroque, Empire, Moorish, Romantic, Renaissance, Napoleon III, Medival, Louis XIII, Islamic, Hollywood Regency, Charles X and more. Hand trimmed with vintage metallic gold fringe. Feather/down-filled. Condition: very good, commensurate with age, slight wear to the silk backing of the gold embroidery, velvet in fine condition 25 inches wide 13 inches high 7 inches deep.
