About the Item
This hand-crafted pillow was designed by a local Chicago artist and textile historian who lovingly repurposes the vintage fabrics, garments and embroidery fragments she collects during her travels. This petite, down-filled lumbar pillow is sewn of metallic silk and appliquéd with fine Italian beading from the early 20th century. The intricate beaded sash is strung with minuscule glass beads in a floral pattern of roses and rosebuds, ending in a personal monogram reading "A. V. A." Minor losses to beading at one end of sash.
