About the Item
This antique pillow cover is crafted from a late 19th-century Ottoman embroidered textile panel, worked in fine silk and metallic thread. At its center, a stylized architectural composition of domes and minarets unfolds like a memory of a sacred cityscape, framed by layers of floral and geometric motifs. The piece embodies both devotional artistry and the refined textile traditions of the Ottoman Empire.
The back is finished in rich yellow cotton velvet, soft and luminous, offering a warm counterpoint to the opulent embroidery of the front. A rare fusion of history and design, this cover bridges the grandeur of Ottoman craftsmanship with contemporary interior elegance.
Recommended insert size: from 44x42cm (17x16") to 47x45cm (18x17"). We recommend using an insert slightly larger than the cover for a full look.
