About the Item
This is a very fine piece of Ottoman embroidery . Silk floss and gilt thread on handspun linen. Late 19th / early 20th century.
Collected in Istanbul in the 1950's . Gifted as a wedding present to a very high ranking lady .
The piece is versatile in application . Itbcould be used as a very decorative wall hanging or as a spectacular bed covering.
One water mark stain that could be easily removed in cleaning .
