A refined and richly layered pair of contemporary decorative pillows, designed by Melissa Levinson, crafted using authentic 19th century French metallic and chenille embroidered appliqués carefully cut from antique remnants and newly hand-applied. Each appliqué—formed as scrolling foliate and floral medallions—is individually positioned and meticulously hand-stitched onto a luminous, exceptionally high-end silk velvet ground in a soft, antique-inspired golden champagne tone.
The antique embroidery displays the hallmarks of true 19th century French textile work: softly oxidized metallic threads, nuanced tonal variation, and delicate chenille highlights that create depth, movement, and a beautifully timeworn elegance.
