About the Item
A stunning pair of custom pillows designed by Melissa Levinson, combining antique French textile artistry with contemporary craftsmanship. Each pillow features an extraordinary 19th-century French appliqué, hand-embroidered in real gold metallic thread and chenille, originally part of an ornate decorative panel. The appliqués depict richly layered florals in warm tones of russet, gold, and olive, their textures and metallic highlights beautifully preserved and brought forward into a new context.
The antique motifs have been carefully hand-applied onto a luxurious sage-green contemporary velvet, creating a soft, luminous backdrop that enhances the dimensionality of the embroidery. The pillows are finished with a coordinating multi-tone tassel fringe, echoing the palette of the appliqués and adding movement, detail, and couture-level finishing.
The backs are upholstered in the same velvet for a fully tailored look and include premium down-filled inserts for exceptional comfort and loft.
