These hand-crafted pillows were designed by a local Chicago artist and textile historian who lovingly repurposes the vintage fabrics, garments and embroidery fragments she collects during her travels. Each elegant, down-filled pillow is sewn of crème white silk and features a fragment of early 20th century French petit point, an exacting form of needlepoint with a high stitch count that allows for fine detail in intricate designs. The delicate embroidery depicts diagonal stripes of branching coral and seaweed, stitched by hand in a palette of red, green and pale pink threads.
