About the Item
In the research for the best materials, we rediscovered silk, a product of the life cycle of the silk cocoon. Silk spread worldwide and became a staple. It crossed continents, oceans, and centuries until it reached Brazil, where we met small manufacturers in the south that do a rich handmade process transforming cocoons into gorgeous bespoke fabrics.
With a color palette rooted in natural shades, our collection tells about Brazilian biodiversity; The yarns used in Bossa Fabrics gain colors from natural dyes extracted from plants in an alchemical process that uses water, heat, salt, and vinegar (acetic acid). The entire dyeing process is executed by hand. It can present variations of up to 15% in coloring due to differences in raw materials.
