About the Item

This hand-crafted throw pillow was designed by a local Chicago artist and textile historian who lovingly repurposes the vintage fabrics, garments and embroidery fragments she collects during her travels. Down-filled and backed in off-white linen, the charming pillow is sewn from vintage French cotton ticking, a type of tightly-woven cloth traditionally used to cover mattresses of straw, chaff or down. The early 20th century textile is patterned with broad vertical stripes of peachy-red color, contrasted against slender lines of yellow, white and grey.
