About the Item
This is a beautiful Wedding blanket from the Berber people of the Atlas mountains of Morocco. 100 % handspun wool and all natural dyes . Night time in the Atlas mountains can be cold so it is essential to have the warmth of natural wool around you .
Woven in the 1920' s the piece would have been a wedding gift to a young couple from a wealthy relative. The geometric motifs represent fertility and properity.
Although some 100 years old the piece has a contemporary feel and would make a nice bed covering or spectacular wall covering .
