Bridges Large Aubergine by Muller Van Severen for BD Barcelona, 2024
By Muller Van Severen
Located in Barcelona, Barcelona
Bridges Large by Muller Van Severen for BD Barcelona, 2024 Bridges is a collection of cabinets designed by Muller Van Severen. MVS developed the cabinets from their series of ‘Wave’ vases. The vase silhouettes were brought into handmade cabinets with unique cutout bases that transcend function. Their refined colours and glossy finishes emphasise structure, standing out with a sculptural beauty. Alone or as a whole, the Bridges cabinets create a colourful architecture that is vibrant and spacious and, of course, full of personality. Important information regarding images of products: Please note that some of the images show other colors and variations of the model, these images are only to present interior design proposals. The item that is selling is on the first image. Important information regarding color(s) of products: Actual colors may vary. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor, laptop, tablet and phone screen has a different capability to display colors and that everyone sees these colors differently. We try to edit our photos to show all of our products as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual color may vary slightly from your monitor About the designer: Muller Van Severen was founded in 2011 by Belgian artist duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen. They are both artists, and their work showcases their appreciation of the natural beauty of materials and how materials can speak for themselves. Working between design and art, the couple has always been on an inspired quest for sculpturally interesting design objects and furniture. Their creations are globally identified in both private homes and public spaces. All of Muller Van Severens own production pieces are handmade by small-scale fabricators and skilled artisans, with an honesty to the rawness and irregularity of the chosen material. Their work is characterized by careful research into their shared passion for art, architecture and materials, yet their designs appear to be created almost intuitively and with total effortlessness. About the manufacturer: BD has been around for over half a century. It was founded in a nightclub in 1972 by a bunch of young architects and designers from Barcelona. They broke into the design world with a new vision: to produce and market their designs, and the designs of their friends with complete creative freedom and design criteria. Beginning with the designs of contemporaries like Ettore Sottsass, Rennie Mackintosh and Álvaro Siza, BD provoked a curiosity about design. These early pieces helped bring international recognition to the country’s design scene, and many of them still exist today. They are an international design company run by a collective ownership —Apartamento Magazine...

Pair of Tall 19th Century Chapel Doors from Belgium
Located in Dallas, TX
Hand-carved in Belgium, circa 1860, this 11 foot tall pair of doors (132.88 inches) were recently salvaged from a Belgian chapel. They can be considered of the Gothic style, which is sometimes referred to as “pointed architecture”, because of the prevalence of pointed arches in buildings. Each door is composed of six vertical planks constructed with mortise and tenon joinery. All planks have been adorned with iron pyramid protuberances, placed in a repeating pattern. The planks and iron retain their white paint, now naturally weathered over the years, perfect for those who appreciate original condition. At over 11 feet tall, these 19th century chapel doors...
