Black Alabaster Pendant Light w. Satyr Sculptures
Located in Lisse, NL
Exceptional French Alabaster Pendant Chandelier with Gilt Bronze Satyr Mounts, circa 1920.
If you are looking for a unique pendant to grace your hallway or any other room or space that can do with a quality and style upgrade then this perfectly balanced light could be flying your way soon. With early 20th century lighting as one of our specialities, finding an excellent condition and highly attractive fixture always makes our day.
Elevate your interior with this rare and exquisite French Art Deco alabaster pendant chandelier, dating from circa 1920. Masterfully carved from a single piece of veined alabaster, the bowl emits a soft, warm glow when lit, revealing dramatic natural patterns reminiscent of marble ink wash painting - every piece of stone uniquely formed by nature over millennia.
Suspended by a finely cast gilt bronze chain, the chandelier is anchored by three striking mount points, each adorned with a highly detailed meaningful satyr or faun head - mythological figures that blend classical beauty with the mystique of antiquity. These ornate masks serve not just as decoration but as sculptural statements, imbuing the piece with a commanding presence.
Whether installed in a neoclassical setting, a moody contemporary space, or a Parisian-inspired interior, this fixture balances opulence with organic texture, light with shadow.
This one of a kind work of lighting art will be professionally wired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well and our price even includes perfect packing (in a custom made box) and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days.

A Unique Twin Fusee English Carriage Clock by James Moore French
Located in Amersham, GB
A one of a kind english twin fusee carriage clock by James Moore French. The eight day movement has a large English jewelled level escapement with compensated bimetallic balance. The movement is wound and set through a round glazed door at the back and can be regulated from the outside as the fast/slow arm extends through the back of the case with rack striking the hour and half hour on blued steel gong with trip repeat.
The gilt dial is signed as is th back plate of the movement, the centre of the dial is engraved with foliate scroll work with a roman chapter and breguet style moon hands.
The unusual case of case bronze in a rococo revival style is finely chased with fluted sides flanked by Cariatids with a swag of fruit and flowers strung between them, th handle is formed of two dolphins.
James Moore French was born in 1781 in County Antrim, Ireland. He was the son of Dr Hugh French and Sarah (née Arundel) French who married his father in 1763 and died in 1783, two years after James’s birth. In 1784, the year after Sarah’s death, Dr Hugh French married a widow named Judith Woodward who was to raise the young James French as her own, alongside his own and his half siblings. As a young man, James French moved from Ireland to London, where he worked with a relative, Peter Moore...

Pair Italian Early 20th Century Rococo-Style Gilt-Bronze Center Tables/Consoles
Located in Los Angeles, CA
A Large and Impressive Pair of Italian Early 20th Century Rococo-Style Gilt-Bronze Center Tables or Wall Consoles with Marble Tops, attributed to Luigi Ciampaglia, renowned for his leadership at the esteemed Fonderia (Foundry) Chiurazzi di Napoli (Naples). These tables boast intricately cast serpentine gilt bronze frames featuring an ornate apron adorned with bearded male masks flanked by swaged floral garlands, C-scrolls, and acanthus motifs. They stand on four elegantly curved cabriolet legs joined by an 'X' stretcher, all terminating in floral sabots, supporting luxurious veined green Verde Antico marble tops. Both tables are elegantly engraved with "Ciampaglia" on the apron, suggesting they were likely a special private commission by Luigi Ciampaglia, possibly crafted by either the Fonderia Ciampaglia or the Fonderia Chiurazzi. Circa: Naples, 1920-1940.
Note: Another example of this model is currently on display at The Miramar Mansion in Newport, R.I
Luigi Ciampaglia held the position of head artisan at the Fonderia (Foundry) Chiurazzi di Napoli. Established by Gennaro Chiurazzi (1840–1906), the Fonderia Chiurazzi originated from a modest foundry founded in Naples in 1870. It swiftly gained renown, expanding into a workshop within the Albergo dei Poveri, where a team of skilled craftsmen, known as formatori, diligently produced casts of numerous statues. Over time, the foundry secured the privilege of taking molds from prestigious collections, including those of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples, the Capitoline Museums, the Vatican, the Borghese Gallery in Rome, and the Palazzo Pitti and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. This resulted in the creation of over fifteen hundred plaster piece molds, embodying the century-long legacy of the company—a feat that remains unparalleled today. Chiurazzi bronzes...
