About the Item
Impressive antique Beshir carpet. This carpet takes many motifs known from generations prior within the repertoire of Turkmen weaving ornament but borrows heavily from the more Perisianate traditions of sedentary Central Asia. The result is a distinct and pleasing synthesis of tribal and sedentary traditions which is inherently Central Asian. It has high quality wool with a lovely sheen and deep natural dye colors. Measures: 393 x 179 cm.
