This is a particularly bold and well-rendered close-up of a 17th century “Vase carpet” design on a red field, with a vase, round, oval and petal palmettes, and a central navy escutcheon, tied together by a two level lozenge straight arabesqueries. Navy classic border with corner roundels, blossom squares, octogrammes and rosettes. Well woven, urban piece with short pile, good condition.
