Contemporary American Hooked carpet utilizing strips of fabric to compose designs that express the tradition of hooked carpets in modern colors and materials for a final product that is both durable and comfortable under foot.
This pattern of interlocking circles employs beige, cream, grey, neutral hues for a muted palette that is calm and soothing.
The design is reminiscent of basic Celtic knot work, bringing in an edge of cultural heritage past.
Though the technique is likely ancient, the Hooked Carpet that we have come to know and love today has a distinctly American style - its practice becoming widespread through the American Northeast and Canadian Maritime Provinces as burlap became a more accessible material.
