About the Item

Herki long runner rug. A fantastic, cheerful old tribal rug by the Herki Kurds who inhabit the mountains on the Turkish-Iraqi border. Authentic weaving traditions continued far longer in this remote region than in other parts of Turkey. Rug has wonderful colors, great details, notice the elaborate braiding of the fringes. Very sturdy, with thick, glossy wool rug. Rug is very well preserved.
