About the Item
Inspired by an unusual antique Bessarabian rug, Bassar features climbing vines in celery green, Chinese red and gold, framed by a stylized flower border. Combining ancient Savonnerie dyeing and weaving methods with a loop weave invented by Asmara, this cut and loop pile rug has subtle shade and texture variations reminiscent of the best antique rugs. Also available in needlepoint, shown at right. Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA. Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets. Use with a pad. Measures: 8'-2" x 10'-8".
