About the Item
Based on an original Asmara painting by Elizabeth Moisan inspired by a 14th century Tuscan villa. Yellow-green leaves and flowers, in shades of garnet, red, yellow, gold and orange adorn brown branches which grow from the borders and spread out on a cream background. Combining ancient Savonnerie dyeing and weaving methods with a loop weave invented by Asmara, this cut and loop pile rug has subtle shade and texture variations reminiscent of the best antique rugs. Also available in needlepoint, as shown at right, and Aubusson. Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA. Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets. Use with a pad. Measures: 10'4" x 13'8".
