An authentic antique Caucasian Kazak rugs with a field pattern dominated by two large hexagonal devices that are typically seen on the niche design rugs attributed to the village of Fachralo, located in the southwest Caucasus and populated predominantly by Armenians. These two elements are flanked by three pairs of birds, appearing as if guarding the central motifs.
The stark contrast between the red open field and the geometric elements is the main feature of antique Kazak rugs. The relatively large square format allows for the design to breathe and express its totemic character.
