About the Item
In this listing you will find a striking antique hand-woven Kelardasht or Kazak rug from Caucasus region. This hand-woven rug features is done in thick soft wool pile in natural dyes and it features geometric pattern. These rugs are traditionally made by Kurdish tribes. The slight irregularities in the pattern and edges suggest it was handmade on a portable, horizontal loom, a hallmark of nomadic craftsmanship. Estimated age of the rug is approx. 100-110 years.
The rug is in good antique condition with some signs of time and use.
