About the Item
Antique Turkmen Rug Erzari sec. XIX cm. Measures: 444 x 190 € 9,000
The Ersari are a tribe of the Turkmen people of Central Asia and one of the five main tribes of Turkmenistan. The Tribu of the Eersani, the most numerous among those Turkmen, takes its name from the legendary Hero Turkmen Ersari Khan.
The carpets of the group generally attributed to the Ersari include specimens characterized by a vast repertoire of compositional schemes, designs and techniques, and because under the generic denomination of Ersari, rugs knotted by various subclusters are included under the generic name of Ersari.
Extremely interest in the archaic polygonal motif adorned with thin pendants (probable its derivation from ancient fabrics) that in ordered files decorates the field of this carpet under the tent had the function of welcoming the guests of this.
