About the Item
In this listing you will find a stunning vibrant Khotan rug with distinctive floral pattern and geometric rim. The dominant color is a rich, deep red, often created using natural dyes like madder root. The contrasting colors in the guls and borders, such as the blue seen in this rug, are typically made with natural indigo dyes. Traditionally, these durable rugs are crafted from local, hand-spun wool for both the pile and foundation. Made in East Turkestan in the 1960s.
Rug is in very good vintage condition.
