Hand knotted in quality wool, this Khotan runner originates from Turkestan circa 1920-1930. The gracious scale presents itself in a scintillating dark blue-gray backdrop that beautifully complements the rich brown hued medallion. Colors of red, beige, and even green and yellow dominate the border while harmoniously accompanying the well defined geometric pattern. Apart from a scintillating sense of movement, connoisseurs may note the dextrous vision that makes the most of geometry—manifesting on the sketch as repetitive striations and the celebrated Oriental Swastika symbol (signifying well being) on the inner border. Prevailing in healthy condition, an exemplary piece well suited for entryways, hallways, corridors, farm houses, country homes, foyers, staircases and kitchens welcoming a traditional style
