About the Item
In this listing you will find an antique Turkmen Asmalyk, which is a ceremonial camel trapping. It was traditionally used during a Turkmen wedding procession to decorate the flanks of the bride's camel. Asmalyks were made in pairs by the bride to showcase her weaving abilities, a highly valued skill in Turkmen culture. After the wedding ceremony, they were often hung inside the couple's new yurt. Estimated age is late 19th century.
Asmalyk is in very good condition with some signs of time and use.
When purchased the asmalyk will be carefully wrapped up and packed in a way to avoid any damages in transport. As soon as shipped you will receive the tracking number for your package. If you have any additional questions regarding this piece please feel free to contact me.
