This Afghan Moroccan–style runner is a new, post-1990 hand-knotted wool rug, produced in Afghanistan using contemporary workshop methods informed by traditional Moroccan-inspired design. Measuring approximately 3 ft 4 in × 9 ft 9 in (about 1.02 × 2.98 meters), it is designed as a corridor runner, proportioned for hallways, entries, bedrooms, and transitional spaces. Its medium-light weight and woven foundation balance durability with ease of handling, making it practical for everyday residential use.
The design features an allover linear composition built from tightly repeated abstract stripe motifs. The pattern is non-directional and evenly distributed, creating a dense surface that reads modern and textural rather than decorative. A narrow tonal border, slightly darker than the field, subtly frames the rug without interrupting the continuous rhythm. The visual language is intentionally restrained, relying on repetition and proportion rather than bold focal elements.
Color is anchored in warm beige and brown rice neutrals, layered with taupe brown, slate blue-gray, and restrained touches of burnt orange and deep blue-gray.
