This Afghan Moroccan beige geometric runner is a new, post-1990 hand-knotted wool rug produced in Afghanistan. Executed in a corridor runner format, it measures approximately 3 ft 4 in × 9 ft 4 in (about 2.89 sq m) and falls into a medium-light weight class with a balanced profile suitable for everyday residential use. The rug is woven entirely of wool pile on a cotton foundation, reflecting contemporary Moroccan-inspired workshop production with consistent materials and controlled finishing.
The design presents a subtle allover Moroccan lattice, formed by softly drawn diamonds and intersecting linear geometry. There is no articulated border; instead, the pattern and field color extend cleanly to the edges for a modern, uninterrupted look. The palette is warm sand and light beige, supported by gentle taupe and brown speckling. Low saturation and low contrast keep the visual effect calm, while the geometric structure provides just enough rhythm to avoid flatness.
Construction is hand-knotted using an asymmetrical (Persian) knot, with a relatively high knot density (approximately 200–350 KPSI) that gives the surface crisp pattern definition. The cut wool pile measures about 6 mm, offering a smooth handle with moderate drape and a soft sheen. A cotton warp and weft with moderate warp depression and two weft shots contribute to durability and dimensional stability in elongated spaces.
From a professional design perspective, this runner works especially well in hallways, galleries, foyers, bedrooms, and refined workspaces where a neutral foundation is required. The scale of the lattice suits narrow proportions without overwhelming them, while the warm beige tones integrate easily into minimal, Scandinavian, organic modern, and transitional schemes, supporting long-term versatility and value retention.
