Rooted in the historic Khotan region—an essential stop along the Silk Road—this carpet reflects the rich cultural crosscurrents of Chinese, Persian, and Central Asian influences.
The field of the rug is characterized by a gentle, time-softened palette, primarily consisting of dusty taupe, muted sienna, faded coral, and soft gray-browns. At the center lies a distinct oval medallion rendered in earthy clay and rust tones, enclosing a symmetric ring of delicate scrolling floral motifs. These vine-like elements echo classic Chinese ornamentation and lend the composition a sense of balance and meditation.
