This exquisite vintage Samarkand rug, woven circa 1945 in the Khotan region of East Turkestan, is a compelling example of the artistic synthesis that characterizes Central Asian textile art. Blending Chinese motifs, Persian influences, and local Uyghur elements, the rug features a subdued yet sophisticated palette of faded rose, cinnamon, peach, and taupe tones set against a warm beige field.
