A wonderful and bold early 20th century central Asian pictorial Khotan rug made for the Chinese market with wonderful Buddhist symbols. Details include a rich persimmon-colored background with several Chinese scholar's objects including multiple vases potted with blossoming peonies and a lotus plant and a bowl of auspicious peach and pomegranate fruits, all surrounded by a contrasting pale green border woven with a large peony blossoms and branches with leaves pattern.
