About the Item
Sometimes referred to as Kirmanshah in the trade, rugs of this type are the finest nineteenth-century workshop weavings from the city of Kirman. This fine antique Lavar Kirman rug exquisitely woven using the softest quality wool available, these are distinguished by the use of a delicate palette often on a light background. The centralised design punctuated by a plethora of botanical motifs against an ivory background with an ivory border is possibly the best design and colour combination I can think of for this rare type. The lovely size makes this a real jewel of weaving.
