About the Item

An extremely fine Lavar Kirman rug of early vintage, the cream background being embellished by a profusion of leafy tendrils and palmettes arranged around a delicately drawn central medallion. This composition is flanked by two opposing pairs of cypress tree motifs, placed at the four corners and issued from the elaborate floral border. This rug is a prime example of Kirman workshop weaving, of a quality that is normally associated with the work of celebrated court designers.
