About the Item
A finely knotted antique Sarouk Farahan rug, decorated by a central medallion on an ivory background. Because of the subtle palette employed here, the central element becomes barely visible, as the colour inside the medallion is very close in tonality to that of the background. The profusion of 'abrash' (a natural effect of colour gradation due to wool being coloured in different dye vats) that characterise this rug imparts of sort of liquidity to the composition. The overall soft tonalities makes this rug ideal for interiors which require a touch of warmth.
