About the Item
An extremely fine Lavar Kirman rug of early vintage, the cream background being embellished by a large curvilinear medallion with pendants containing floral motifs on an indigo blue ground. This composition is framed by a border consisting of a blossom motif alternated to a green cypress tree.
This rug is a prime example of Kirman workshop weaving, of a quality that is normally associated with the work of celebrated court designers.
