The popularity of Sultanabad rugs goes back to the mid-19th century. Sultanabad’s were designed and produced for export to European consumers in the 19th and 20th centuries, the Ziegler firm being the primary producer. This piece has been woven with a traditional symmetrical floral design on a subtle cream background with accents of brown and beige. This fine wool area rug was constructed by hand with only the finest materials, including hand-spun wool and cotton that have been dyed with organic dyeing techniques used for generations.
